Peggy & Drew Barton report:
Clayton was released from the hospital the afternoon of his birthday (Wed. 20th). He was over the sickness from his Chemo by Saturday so he really enjoyed his 5th birthday party. He has about a 15 to 20 day break from the Chemo, then he will start back twice a week, once for blood work and spinal tap, the next for the Chemo. He always stays overnight the 1st treatment and after that it is outpatient unless there is a problem. He will do this for 4 to 6 weeks. He will then start a different type of Chemo. I think he is to finish up with the two types of Chemo sometime the 1st week of July. After that if all his tests still show everything is ok and he is still in remission, he will go into maintenance where I think he only has to go once a month. Please continue to pray for God's will in this matter.

Joan Mixon reports a praise for Robert Lee. He had surgery and is now off the respirator and has shown remarkable improvement.

Nancy Walker reports on Reese Walker: Just wanted to send a quick update and let eveyone know we are so thankful for all of your prayers and we feel them constantly. We are still in ICU and Reese is still on breathing tube may be off tomorow. Once he does come off the tube, they said I will be able to hold him again, which I have not been able to do since we got here. We will be in ICU until Thurs. at least. He is receiving his 5th blood transfusion now. He is still highly sedated, but they are giving him some breastmilk now through a tube - which I know Reese is probably very happy to receive. All of the docs (seems like he has about 20) seem to be very impressed with how well he is doing under the circumstances. Again, we thank you for everthing, but most importantly for your prayers. Please continue to pray for him.

Drew & Peggy Barton report: Please be in special prayer for Clayton. He went to Wolfson's Thursday (4/14) for Chemo which usually lasts 4 days. They have to flush out his system after the Chemo and some type of test they do has to be a certain level before he can be released. This was his last treatment of this type of Chemo and they have said it is usually the worst to clear out. They have told Kristie one child had to be in there two weeks before being released. This is about 13 days he has been in the hospital this month in 3 different trips - 2 for Chemo and 1 because of the infection he had. His 5th birthday is tomorrow and he was looking forward to a birthday party this Saturday.

4/5/11Drew and Peggy Barton write: I know the people of Emmanual have been faitful about praying for Clayton and our family very much appreciates the prayers. However, he is having a very rough time right now so please be in special prayer for him. He has been taking a very strong type of chemo and has to be in the hospital for 4 days. Last Thursday he went into Wolfson's for his 3rd treatment. He was released about 9 p.m. Sunday night. He was sick all that night and on Monday. This morning (Apr. 5th) we received a call about 2 a.m. that they were taking him back to Wolfson as he was running a fever of 101. His blood pressure is very low and his heart rate is very high. His blood counts looked ok, so they are doing further testing. They have been giving him fluids as fast as they can run them into him to try to get his blood pressure up. They have the Oncology unit in isolation. When Clayton was there Thursday thru Sunday, a child who was in the hospital and had been playing in the hall developed chicken pox. This can be very bad for kids like Clayton whose resistance to disease is almost non-existant. He has also been having headaches so they were going to do a head scan. The fluids have not raised his blood pressure very much, so they are probably going to give him blood. Thank you for all your prayers.

Bobbie O’Quinn writes: Dear church family, I made it to church this morning (with the help of Russell , the Lord and medication) for the first time since early January. I am forcing myself to go back tonight. There's no way anyone can fully understand how much you miss your church family and friends until you are confined to your bed suffering with such a deep pain in your body and can hardly walk. This is what I've been dealing with since last April. It has just gotten worse and worse as the days and weeks have have passed. Since sometime in November, I've been seen by several doctors, have been diagnosed with several, different things and been put on medications that only made things worse. I finally got an appointment at Mayo Clinic and was seen there last week. Prayerfully we are now headed in the right direction as to what the real diagnosis is. I will find out tomorrow as to the next steps we will be taking. The reasons I wanted to put this on God's Design is two fold. Several people at church this morning ask me " where have you been ? " I don't want my church family to think I would ever just lay out of church, that's not me. The second reason is that I need everyone to pray for me, Russell, and the doctors who will be taking care of me in the weeks/months to follow. For all who did know of my condition and have called, sent cards, brought food, and prayed for Russell and me, I thank you so much. I know my God is in control and He will see me through these health issues. Thank you and God bless every one of you.

Alex will be living on life-support (machines) for a while if the surgery is successful. The infection is so massive in the lungs this surgery is needed. Pray for Alex, Tim, Kat, Neal and Shirley as these next few hours are going to be very difficult for each of them. Shirley is going to wait to tell Mom of how Alex is doing until after the surgery.**********************************

The mask they made for Jerry will keep his head from any movement and also have a place pinpointed to shoot the radiation. They said the treatment would take about 45 minutes. Then everything else will be done in Wayycross. Praise the Lord. Please keep us in your prayers as we take this opportunity to be a witness for "Him". Thank you so much for praying for us, we feel the strength and the peace the Lord is giving us because you are standing in the gap for us . Love in Christ Wanda

Nell Beverly writes: Tim just called the family in to the hospital. The doctors are going to perform a heart/lung bypass today. The surgery will take app 4 hours. They are prepping Alex for surgery now. Alex will not survive without this surgery and has a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery.
Wanda Strickland writes: Greetings to everyone, Leah, Jerry and I have just returned from Mayo Clinic. Jerry went through blood work, CT scan and a fitting for a mask made for his head. We will return to Mayo on March 21, for the Streotactic Radiation, known as the Gamma Knife or Cyber Knife.
